What is Rock Steady Boxing Vancouver?
Rock Steady Boxing Vancouver gives people with Parkinson’s Disease hope through non-contact boxing-based fitness classes.
Rock Steady Boxing Vancouver uses exercises that have been adapted from boxing drills to give our boxers an opportunity to “fight back” against Parkinson’s Disease. At Rock Steady, Parkinson’s is our opponent.
Our boxers train to improve their overall fitness and strength, speed, balance, agility, reaction time, hand-eye coordination, mental focus, and range of motion. Our non-contact boxing classes help Vancouverites with Parkinson’s to address these symptoms in a fun, stress-relieving, non-clinical environment.
At Rock Steady Boxing Vancouver, we not only work to improve your physical abilities, but also work on cognitive, breathing and voice exercises throughout our classes. We always make it functional, and we always bring the FUN factor.
Who Can Box With Us?
Men and women of all ages and all stages of Parkinson's are welcome to participate. Classes are modified to individual boxers' needs and abilities. NO prior boxing experience is needed.
